Biography
The Insane clown Posse story starts off in the outskirts
of Detroit, where young Joe Bruce and young Joey utsler formed the inner city
posse. It wasn't long, when they were two of the last members in the group rapping,
after Detroit gangs started to take notice of their name on the rise and set out
to end the inner city posse. Violent J(Joseph Bruce) and 2 Dope(Joseph utsler)
later released their first full length LP as the insane clown posse, the album
was carnival of carnage. Carnival Of Carnage debuted in 92, following the story
of a dark carnival that would visit evil doers and show them the hell that tortured,
poverty stricken Americans see every day. The album is strongly against government
officials and even states that the governors family gets free tickets to the carnival
if changes aren't made. Over all the CD thrives on production by Mike E. Clark
and Esham, even has collabs with both, Esham and Kid Rock(two of Detroit's biggest
names at the time) as well as Violent J's brother, Jumpsteady. Next LP up was
Ringmaster, a CD whose name came from a ghoul that was every sin a person does
in his life, come back on him. The concept? a ringmaster you are forced to wrestle,
if you win, you get eternal life in heaven, if you lose... well if you lose you
get torment by evil clowns in the twisted carnival. After this was was Riddlebox.
A CD representing judgment. ICP unfolded a gloomy prophecy of 6 joker cards. Riddlebox
being the third. It followed a much more rock oriented style, taking the imagery
darker then before on tracks like Killing Fields, and taking the sense of humor
to a more cartoony morbid place then before on songs like Cemetery girl. The Great
Milenko marked ICP's biggest accomplishment. A platinum selling album. They Earned
a reputation of putting on a colorful, live show complete with flying soda bottles
and lights that would leave the crowd stunned. They also made an impression on
a national market through pro wrestling and lots of news coverage over their terrible
luck with record label Hollywood Records(Disney) who pulled the album the day
it was released due to protesting from religious organizations, which is kinda
ironic knowing the end of the ICP saga was just a few CDs away. The CD was about
a magician who would make you believe what you were doing was right, and then
make you feel the guilt of your actions by forcing you to see who you hurt. The
Amazing Jeckle Brothers came next, number 5. 2 juggling brothers who tossed your
sins back and forth. The evil brother, trying desperately to make his brother
drop the balls, the Good brother, trying his hardest to catch them all and toss
them back. Every sin in your life adds another ball, making it more difficult
to keep them in the air. They pose the question, if you died today, who would
win? The last and final joker card is released 2002, 10 years after the group
got its start. November 5, the Detroit rap group released THE WRAITH. A 'death'
like figure that carries dead souls to shangri la(the next album focus's on hells
pit). Produced this time by Mike P. a new comer to ICPs production staff, brought
a much more experimental edge to the music of ICP and added to the atmosphere
of the CD The CD followed typical ICP fashion of gore and humor and cartoony sound
effects up until the last track when violent j and shaggy 2 dope announced that
they are sorry if they tricked their fans, the juggalos into believing in something
that isn't real and that the carnival is a metaphor for God. Next up for ICP is
the other half, hells pit. They promise this one will be the darkest they have
done yet, but fans are still a bit shaken by the statements of religion, as are
everybody else.
